Second phase of the civil society support program (CSSPII) Ethiopia aims at enhancing the capacities of CSOs for a stronger civil society organizations for stronger civil society dialogue ,participation and reputation .The civil society support program (CSSP) is a multi-donor capacity development program led by DFID mad managed by the British council. It is designed to support CSOs and contribute to the country’s national development, poverty reduction and advancement of good governance in line with the government policies.
Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association collaborated with British council and granted 250,000$ (9, 2750,000 ETB) to implement a project titled ‘’ Prevention of GBV and Protection of Justice for women and Children via multifaceted approach’’. The project is a two-year project aimed at supporting EWLA organizational capacity as well as its endeavor in realizing women rights protection in six intervention sites which EWLA has branch offices. Under the CSSPII project, EWLA has been able to represent victim saviors at courts, provide legal aid services, strengthen institutional capacity .Moreover; CSSP II project is enabling EWLA to play vital role in the legal framework improvement process.
